MND Aware - Shoalhaven

MND is a progressive, incurable disease. To maintain quality of life, people with MND require a coordinated approach to care. Motor Neurone Disease NSW (MND NSW) is running a limited number of face-to-face training sessions across metropolitan and regional NSW. 

MND Aware face-to-face is an interactive workshop about motor neurone disease. It is most suited for health and community care providers who want to know more about the disease and its impact on people living with it, where to find information, and how to best support people with MND. We will provide an overview of possible causes, symptoms and progression, and symptom management. You will be able to discuss multidisciplinary approaches in symptom management, work on case studies and speak to MND advisors and coordinators about how MND NSW can support you.

MND Aware training is for:

• health, allied health, and palliative care professionals
• community, home care, disability, and aged care workers
• care coordinators and case managers
• volunteers, pastoral care workers and others who work with people living with MND

You will learn about:

• impact of MND on people with MND and their families and carers
• effective ways of supporting people with MND

Cost: $ 120 (including refreshments, MND booklet, certificate of participation).

If you are a registered health practitioner, you are eligible to receive up to 5 Continuing Professional Development points (CPD) as part of your ongoing professional development obligations on completion of this workshop. See https://www.ahpra.gov.au for more information.
