Thanks to your generous support, MND NSW has funded a grant as part of the 2025 MNDRA research grant program.

Congratulations to Dr Abigail Pfaff from Murdoch University, who has received the Dr Paul Brock MND Research Grant for her studies of retrotransposons, a type of mobile DNA ,and their activity profile in people experiencing MND. We look forward to the knowledge gained about MND and potential treatment improvements as a result of your research.

In the blink of an eye, Margaret Smith went from a NSW state representative lawn bowler to being confined to a wheelchair and unable to move, speak or eat.

For almost two years she has battled motor neurone disease, and is now completely reliant on the care of her husband, Wayne Smith.

MND NSW, including FlexEquip, will be closed for the holiday period from 12pm-midday Tuesday 24 December, reopening on Monday 6 January 2025. During this time our phones and emails will not be monitored.

Last referrals with a current FlexEquip Service Agreement for delivery prior to closure is Wednesday 11 December 2024.
