A big thank you to the members of the Ballina Arts and Crafts Centre, Inc (BACCI) who generously donated $1,000 to raise awareness and help to purchase equipment for MND NSW. BACCI is a non profit organisation and consists of a group of creative artisans who enjoy displaying their artwork in a group, plus having fun along the way! BACCI held their annual Spring Exhibition in Ballina during September, and the group decided to choose MND NSW as their fundraising charity. Pictured is Deb McFarlane and Mary Richards with BACCI's donation.

The rain has been pouring down in the Northern Rivers for a week but it didn't stop our MND families meeting up to celebrate Carers Week 2018 at a scrumptious morning tea on 15 October in Alstonville. Thank you Carers NSW for partnering with MND NSW so we could celebrate our carers and enjoy good company.

You can participate in this international study aiming to find out if there is a relationship between levels of stigma and levels of psychological distress experienced by individuals with a diagnosis of MND. Researcher Natalie Leigh from Clinical Psychology programme at Lancaster University, Lancaster, United Kingdom, is seeking participants for her research. Anyone aged 18 or over who has a diagnosis of MND can complete an online survey regarding their experiences of stigma and well-being.

Thank you Wagga Wagga for a great night! This was our sixth Walk in Wagga Wagga and our first twilight Walk to d'Feet MND. The weather was perfect and so was the company. The Walk began at 5.30pm and participants walked around the very pretty Lake Albert. A big thank you to the amazing Pat O'Hara and her wonderful sidekick Denise Hart who have both worked so hard for the past six years organising this event. A special thank you also to the members of the Wagga Wagga Rotary for their continued support and their yummy sausage sizzle at the end of the Walk, and to our local sponsors Les Gray Plumbing and Pirtek Wagga Wagga, both these sponsors have been with us from the beginning. Thank you also to the wonderful local volunteers, without your assistance we couldn’t hold our Walks.
