We'd like to sincerely thank the staff at Wellington Correctional Centre who recently held an MND Ice Bucket Challenge in support of families facing MND on June 2, raising over $1,500.
Organiser Natasha Richards gave an overview of the event:
"Staff at Wellington Correctional Centre recently demonstrated their community spirit and commitment to a worthy cause by raising funds for Motor Neurone Disease (MNDNSW) through a series of fundraising activities.
As part of their monthly staff meeting, team members organised a bake sale that attracted strong support from colleagues across the centre. The event featured a variety of homemade treats and provided staff with an opportunity to come together while contributing to an important cause.
Adding to the day's activities, Manager of Security, Rohan Archer, showed his support by taking on the Ice Bucket Challenge. His willingness to participate brought plenty of enthusiasm and entertainment to the event while helping raise awareness of MND and the impact the disease has on individuals and their families.
Thanks to the generosity of staff and supporters, the fundraising efforts were a great success, with a total of $1,547.21 raised for the MND charity.
The achievement reflects the strong sense of teamwork and compassion within Wellington Correctional Centre. Every contribution will help support ongoing research, advocacy, and services for people living with Motor Neurone Disease.
Congratulations and thank you to everyone who contributed to making the fundraiser such a positive and successful event."
Thank you all for your amazing efforts!
