Learn about what MND is, symptoms and symptom management strategies.

We will discuss where to get support and the role of multidisciplinary care team members. We will also discuss pressure care, manual handling, communication devices as well as strategies to take care of your mental health and wellbeing.

We will have a range of FlexEquip equipment items with us at the event for you to have a go at using, including a switch adapted door chime, voice amplifier, iPad and communication apps, buttons and switches and an EyeGaze.

This event is without cost for people living with MND, carers and family and friends. Light refreshments will be provided. Registrations are essential.

About the workshop facilitator

Dr Sadaf Warraich, Education Coordinator, MND NSW

Dr Sadaf Warraich holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from the University of Sydney. Her research in the field of MND focused on investigating the molecular, cellular, and biochemical basis of MND. Dr Warraich’s academic journey also included a Post-doctoral fellowship in MND research at Macquarie University. Beyond her research endeavours, Dr Warraich has held teaching positions in various education settings. 

Parking

Please allow extra time for parking if you are driving to the venue.

The parking options are:

  • Club members can park in the Club Liverpool underground carpark.
  • You can register to become a club member ($5 annual car park access) on the day. Please note, you will need to temporarily park on the street, in the council carpark, or at the Westfield Liverpool (200 meters) while you register. Once registered, you can move your car to the club carpark.
  • Warren Serviceway carpark – Parking fees apply
  • Liverpool Station parking  (350 m).
