Thank you to everyone who joined us at this special and inspiring event.
Together we joined in strength and solidarity for people living with MND and their carers. We shared a moment of remembrance, reflecting upon the lives of the loved ones, family and friends who have died from the disease. We were inspired by Professor Steve Vucic as he shared his thoughts about current research and lit a candle in support and encouragement for researchers in their quest for a cure.
Candles were also lit by other representatives of the MND community. A candle was lit for people living with MND and their carers, for the MND workforce, for volunteers and for the work of MND NSW. A candle was also lit for people who have died from the disease and the families, friends and carers who have lost someone to MND.
Many attendees dedicated a blue cornflower to someone special who has been diagnosed with MND and placed it in the cornflower field. We viewed the MND NSW collection of Australia's March of MND Faces, the photographic display of people with MND from NSW, ACT and the NT.
It was empowering and inspiring to join with so many members of the MND community at the special event. If you didn't get a chance to attend this year, make sure you register for the 2025 event. All members of the MND community are invited to attend.
Thanks again to everyone who participated in the ceremony and volunteered their time to support with lighting candles or with the event on the day. And a very big thank you to all the attendees - you made the event a most special occasion.
