Will you Be the Light, and help us bring a little brightness to the lives of those facing MND this Christmas?

For a person facing motor neurone disease, their carers and family, the plans they had for their life are turned upside down. An MND diagnosis can be confusing and terrifying, especially after many have spent years trying to find the reason for their array of symptoms.

And to make matters worse, their age and location at the time of diagnosis can mean the level of support they receive can be worlds apart. John, Wayne and Margaret, and Jean and David have all shared their stories with us for our 2024 Christmas Appeal. They told us about the challenges MND has brought them, how their lives have been affected, and that they would not have been able to face MND without the assistance they received from MND NSW. But we’ve only been able to support them, and thousands of others, with the donations we receive from our amazing supporters like you.

Did you know that people diagnosed aged 65 and over do not qualify for the NDIS? Whilst they may qualify for My Aged Care, wait times are long and the packages available are inadequate.

For those in rural and regional areas, finding assistance specific to their condition can be problematic, with limited access to healthcare workers with specialist training, support and information, or finding these services are too stretched to meet all the needs of their community.

Without assistance from MND NSW, families are left to source assistance on their own - causing financial distress and significantly impacting their quality of life. We need your help to ensure no one facing MND is left in the dark. Click here to support our 2024 Christmas Appeal - we also encourage you to leave a message of hope with your donation and show people living with MND and their families that their community is thinking of them this festive season.

Be the Light and show people facing MND they aren’t alone - your generous donation to our 2024 Christmas Appeal will help MND NSW provide them with the assistive equipment, information, training programs, and support they desperately need.
