Attend the MND Association's International Symposium on ALS/MND & the International Alliance Conferences in Montreal Canada, 2-8 December 2024 - Online or in person.
The International Symposium on ALS/MND is the biggest annual conference dedicated to ALS and MND research. This year's event will take place in Montreal, Canada on 6-8 December 2024.
Apply for the below MND Alliance Patient Fellows Program to have the opportunity to attend the International Symposium on ALS/MND as well as optional registration for the International Alliance's Conferences which are held 2-5 December.
Successful applicants are also invited to apply for additional funding from FightMND.
MND Alliance Patient Fellows Program

The ALS/MND Alliance Patient Fellows Program is open to people diagnosed with ALS/MND, caregivers and ALS/MND gene carriers.
Successful applicants have the opportunity to participate either online or in-person at the International Symposium on ALS/MND, as well as the International Alliance Conferences including the 2024 Alliance Meeting and 2024 Allied Professionals Forum.
For successful applicants who intend to attend the conferences in person, the Patient Fellows Program will cover:
- Conference registration fees
- 4 nights’ accommodation
- GBP £1500 GPD in travel costs.
The 2024 application period is between 1 – 28 June 2024.

FightMND Grant
You must be accepted into ALS/MND Alliance Patient Fellows program to be able to access this additional grant funding.
If your application for the above Patient Fellows Program is successful and you intend to attend the event in person, you are invited to apply for additional funding from FightMND.
The FightMND Grant will support 2 people with MND and their carers with up to AUD $10,000 per application. The funds can be used for flights, accommodation and other travel costs to support the trip.
For people interested in applying for the additional funding from FightMND to attend the conference in person, MND NSW will be administering applications from people registered with MND NSW in NSW, ACT and NT.

- Request submitted to FightMND: Early – Mid September 2024
- Successful recipients Notified: Late October 2024
- Travel funds provided to administering organisation: Late Oct – Early November 2024
- Expected dates for funds to be used: November 2024.
Please note that to be successful the applicant will be required to have the appropriate travel clearances from their medical team and appropriate travel insurance (can be included as part of the travel costs).
