On 5 November 2018 Australian Story caught up with MND researcher Dr Justin Yerbury. Justin, who has MND, featured on the same program in March 2018. Follow the links in the stories to watch both programs on ABC iView. You can also read an article by Justin on MND and the National Disability Insurance Scheme on The Conversation.

Whist watching the hundreds of walkers at the start of the Sydney Walk to d’Feet MND, I was reminded of a line from a beautiful poem shared with us from MND UK.   “Because of you, there is HOPE, a harbour of love, courage determination, defiance, generosity.......walking shoes purpose and drive.”

A big thank you to the members of the Ballina Arts and Crafts Centre, Inc (BACCI) who generously donated $1,000 to raise awareness and help to purchase equipment for MND NSW. BACCI is a non profit organisation and consists of a group of creative artisans who enjoy displaying their artwork in a group, plus having fun along the way! BACCI held their annual Spring Exhibition in Ballina during September, and the group decided to choose MND NSW as their fundraising charity. Pictured is Deb McFarlane and Mary Richards with BACCI's donation.

The rain has been pouring down in the Northern Rivers for a week but it didn't stop our MND families meeting up to celebrate Carers Week 2018 at a scrumptious morning tea on 15 October in Alstonville. Thank you Carers NSW for partnering with MND NSW so we could celebrate our carers and enjoy good company.
