One day, motor neurone disease will take everything from Sharon. Until then, will you help her make the most of life?

You may have received our Christmas appeal in the mail recently sharing the story of Sharon and her family but we really wanted to share Sharon’s story with you again as it’s one that really hits home about the effects of MND—but it’s also one of hope as we see the amazing strength so many in our community show every day, just like Sharon and her family demonstrate.

2020 has certainly been a year to remember. It started with bushfires, then floods and just when we were starting to relax it hit us with Covid 19. But through it all our amazing supporters have adapted and continued to fundraise for us.  We had an unprecedented response to our Winter appeal with over $152,000 raised. Then with no physical community events able to go ahead, everything was taken online and what amazing support we’ve received. Through online challenge pages, beautiful in memoriam pages, dedicated cornflowers and our Virtual Walk you’ve raised $233,474 for us to date.  A fantastic result at any time, but in a Covid year, it really tells us what amazing supporters we have.

As we approach the end of the year and the run up to the holiday season, we wanted to share some ideas to help make your Christmas special.

Here are some suggestions for clothing, unique gifts and how to enjoy meals together over the festive season.

Always Was, Always Will Be

MND NSW acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the lands and waters of Australia and the Torres Strait and we pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

MND NSW acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the Country across NSW, ACT and NT on which we work and their continuing connection to land, waters and community. We make mention of the Wallumdegal or Wattumatagal people of the Eora Nation, where our head office is located.

The Ambulance Service of NSW has developed two types of care plans to help ambulance staff to make the best decisions in the event of an emergency. Ambulance Care Plans authorise paramedics to provide individually tailored treatment based on the directions documented in their plan by their health practitioner.
