This week is National Palliative Care Week which aims to raise awareness and understanding of palliative care in the Australian community. This year’s theme is ‘Palliative Care, it’s more than you think.’

There are many misconceptions about Palliative Care, including that it is something that people only receive in the very last days of life. This week is a good time to learn more about the role of Palliative Care, how to access it and how it can support people with Motor Neurone Disease.

For MND Week this year, we asked you to share your stories. We were blown away by the beautiful, heartfelt stories you shared about your MND journey, and the MND experiences of your loved ones. We'd like to say thankyou for taking the time to share with us, and to raise awareness of the impact motor neurone disease has.

Following the success of the health and wellbeing workshops held during Carers Week 2020, Carers NSW is inviting carers to join a range of self-care and wellbeing events in May 2021.

Times of celebration and significant events, like Father's Day, can be a particularly difficult time for many people. It’s a day that is often seen as a time to celebrate and spend time with loved ones, but it can also be yet another reminder of a loss, and this can trigger emotions of grief and sadness.
