People with dementia and their carers are invited to participate in a research project being conducted by Alzheimer’s Australia NSW. This research aims to explore the changes in relationships, both social and intimate that occur following the diagnosis of dementia.
The Carnarvon Golf Club in Lidcombe hosted a Charity Golf Day in March with $7,737.25 raised from the event donated to MND NSW. Despite the rain it was a fantastic day enjoyed by all who attended. Assistive Technology Australia is an impartial information and advisory service on assistive technology and the built environment. They are conducting a one-day free event at Griffith in the ACT on Wednesday 5 April for people with disabilities, carers, and family members. You can find out 'How can I find out what is available?' 'What do I need to consider when choosing Assistive Technology?' 'Where can I get advice?'. You do need to register. More info here
The NDIA is conducting information sessions, designed to help people with disability, as well as their families and carers, get ready for the National Disability Insurance Scheme that will commence in the Sydney Central and South Eastern Sydney areas on 1 July 2017. The information sessions are also a perfect opportunity to bring your questions along and have them answered by experienced NDIA staff members.
